Why Should You Think About Donating Your Eggs?

Why Should You Think About Donating Your Eggs?

Egg donation is becoming more accepted in the reproductive space. And while there are a lot of reasons why donated eggs are needed, why should women go to these lengths? Besides the potential monetary compensation, donating eggs is a wonderful and generous act. There are several benefits to egg donation. In fact, when you decide to donate your eggs, you’re signing up for a process that offers benefits to both you and a couple or individual — who will receive the eggs.

Top Reasons to Donate Eggs

Change the lives of hopeful parents. Your decision to donate will be life-changing to the hopeful parents who choose you as their egg donor. Many women require donor eggs to conceive because of various factors, such as premature ovarian failure, diminished ovarian reserve, genetic diseases, repeated IVF failure and other health conditions. Gay couples also need donor eggs to start a family through surrogacy.

Committed to a giving spirit. Egg donation provides you with a chance to express your giving spirit and experience the joy of helping those in need. Many donors feel an enhanced sense of empowerment after donating their eggs.

Practice selflessness. Selflessness often blooms as egg donors move through the journey of anonymously providing a crucial component to the growth of a family. The selfless young women who’ve chosen PureOvum as their egg donor agency, we are humbled and grateful for your gifts of love.

Receive compensation. Compensation is a consideration for many women considering donating eggs. Egg donation is a beautiful act, and the leading egg donation agency recognizes the commitment that it takes. As a result, we compensate our donors generously for their time and effort. This monetary compensation can make it possible for you to pursue your own life goals, including travel and education. Estimated reimbursement for our egg donors ranges from $5,000 to a maximum of $10,000 (which is set by the donor).

What is the Egg Donation Cycle on the Egg Donor Journey?

Here at PureOvum, our team will provide a medical protocol for you. A PureOvum coordinator will arrange travel, appointments, and medications. Local donors will need to commit to two weeks for the cycle (stay in San Diego for 14 days; OOT donors will be monitored the first week and stay in San Diego for 7-10 days).

Before the egg retrieval, you will undergo monitoring to confirm that your body’s ready to begin the cycle and track your progress on the medications. The egg retrieval itself takes about 15-20 minutes, and all donors are required to stay in San Diego for an additional 24-48 hours after the procedure to properly rest and recover. One additional appointment will be required for final monitoring after the retrieval to ensure your body has recuperated.
